unit 28 p2
Download Speed;
Download speed form the user side is how long it would be for the selected webpage to load, photo to load or things to download once requested. The measurements for the time it would take to load the page and the speed of the page are completely different issues as some webpages have more content than others like pictures and videos and hold more storage space so can download slower. E.g- Having slow internet connection or having a computer that has a lot of information stored on it is it more likely to run slower and could cause the webpage to time out or crash, so it is best to get the best connection possible aand even if it has to cost more to run it because it will make your computer work quicker and you wont have to wait around for ages. If the download speed is running slowly because you have been downloading too much you can make this better by getting a new processor or better connection.
Cache memory;
Cache memory is the short term used for the RAM and CPU access which is easier and quicker than it would be than to use a normal RAM chip. The CPU will use the Cache Memory to store the instructions that will be required to run different applications/programs the user wishes to use. You can find larger caches and that will operate at higher specific speeds, also these are now considered to be the core of the CPU your pc uses. Other caches on the other hand can be simpler and differ, and they will be slower when used. Your computer will start to run more slowly because the cache memory is getting too full like trying to stuff a suitcase, you can improve this by simply gaining a better cache memory bank.
Web server capacity;
- A web server is a program that uses the client internet provider which connects to the World Wide Web Hypertext Transfer Protocol (language) this then serves the files that form Web pages to Web users which contains HTTP clients which forwards their requests. Every computer on the internet that contains a Web site must have a web server program. The leading Web server is Microsoft's internet information server it is the most widely installed and used server. A common way that you could increase the capacity of the web server is to upgrade your server to a better server, this is a common debate with most tech savvy people on which is best as most people hate internet explorer so much switch to servers like Google Chrome, Firefox and Bing.
Processor Speed;
- Processor speed is the speed of which the microprocessor gives out instructions to the rest of the system, the CPU has got a fixed number of ticks (time) in which it has to operate the instructions so the faster the clock the better, this leads as the more instruction it gets and can executed in good time. For example 2 CPU's may have the same clock speed but it may not perform the same as some will run faster than others and some will have faster microprocessor like the differences between computer systems, which means that a single calculation can be performed in just 1 tick.
Unit 28 D1
TCP/IP TCP means transmission control protocol and is made up of two layers, the first is a section which handles all the data and is sent to other computers. The TCP programme is pre downloaded on to any computer that you can purchase and can be pre installed on the internet. When the main roles of the TCP is compressed into all the data it is being sent to smaller packets and these packets get sent to their destination. In order to know what destination their being sent too the main data packets will be sent to the second protocol and is used to obtain the address that the data is being sent too. This protocol adds the address to the packet, this section is read first before moving the packet as it can determine the destination IP address that the packet will be sent to.
HTTP means Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, HTTP is the underlying language used by the World Wide Web, HTTP defines how messages are formatted and transmitted and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various commands. The web browser (client) uses HTTP to transmit the request for the webpage (HTML document) to the server, if the document exists the server will respond with a 200 status code and transfer the requested document back to your web browser using the HTTP language.
HTTPS means Hype Text Transfer Protocol Secure this does the same as HTTP although this is a more secure, safer version. This type of protocol is used when people are exchanging sensitive data e.g- login information and when someone has logged into the website, this means that the data is stored only to the computer that you are using. E.g- When using Facebook or Banking when you type it in on the computer the S sound automatically appear to show you that the website is secure and it stops people hacking into it.
SMTP means simple mail transfer protocol which is the internet standard for electronic mail transmission, this protocol allows people to send electronic mail between two computers e.g- Hotmail. SMTP is a protocol (language) for sending e-mail messages between servers, and store and forward system. Most email systems that send mail over the internet use SMTP to send messages from one server to another, the messages can then be retrieved with an email client.

unit 28 p1/m1
Web architectures
Internet service provider (ISP)
The web architectures helps with providing internet access as well as employing a lot of technologies to connect users to their network and is an organisation with many different aspects which include
-hosting
-internet access
- mailbox
-virtual
-transit
-commercial
-non-profit
-privately owned
-community-owned
-privately owned
Web hosting services;
Web hosting service is a type of internet service which allows individuals and other organisations to make their own websites easy to use and easy to access via the world wide web. Web hosts are different companies that provide spaces on a server or allow use for others, they also provide internet connectivity in the data center.
Domain structures
Domain structure can be broken down in to first level domains, top level domains (TLD) or sub level domains (SLD). TLD is a common domain and includes .com .info .org and .net which are used the most. TLD can represent country codes e.g- .us. They contain information which forms the web address and allows you to access the right site and get you there quickly.
Domain name registrars
A domain name registrar is the thing that provides a domain registration service to individuals or other companies that are looking to create their own web address e.g- companies that provide this service are the big big websties such as Google and Bing.
WWW- World Wide Web
The World Wide Web is a huge system and contains computer networks and internet servers that can support things like formatted documents, World Wide Web is all internet access and anything you type into a computer you have to have WWW at the start to get anywhere, it includes hyper text documents and other digital resources that can be accessed through the internet, it is most commonly referred to as the web.

Components
Hardware;
Computer hardware, is the collection of machinery parts that make up the computer system, the physical parts of it is the
-monitor
-keyboard
-mouse

Routers
Routers will use information from an data packet which is coming into the computer and will detect the destination of the data packet before it reaches its next output service. It forwards the data packets to all of the other different networks, they connect to more than two data lines from these different networks.
Software
Software
Software is a machine which has readable instructions that direct a computers processor to make sure it performs to the best of its ability and to make sure it does all of the correct operations, it works with the hardware which i have already spoken about. It is used in a computer to perform such tasks like web browser and email.
M1
Web 2.0;
This term describes the second generation of WWW that is only set on the ability for people to discuss with each other on how to share valuable information. A example of web 2.0 is social networking sites, blogs and video sharing, for example Facebook would not exist without web 2.0, as it is data based driven so once you post something for example a status it goes live straight away.

Blogs;
A blog is a website which is updated a lot and is a website were an individual posts informal writing on their for others to open and read if they want too but some peoples blogs can be set to personal so no one else can see them. By reading someone else's blog you can gather an idea of there personality as their information normally reflects who they are an a person. An example of someone to use a blog is a celebrity this is so people can be aware of their tour dates or when they are performing. It also allows people to like your blog and comment on it.
Online application
An online application is a program which runs through the web browser and relies on the web browser to allow certain applications but some online applications include flash games and pop ups. E.g- Google drive, this when you can use something online without having the software on your computer so that you access different sites without actually having it installed.
Cloud computing;
Cloud computing is where you can store and access data and is a very easy thing to use, you can access programs like the internet and this way you will not have to use the computer's hard drive e.g ICloud and Dropbox- automatic backup of something on your phone, so that it is there too access easily.
